Hypnotherapy to Drug Addiction

For professionals ready to stop using drugs

Hypnotherapy Support for Drug Addiction

You can be successful, responsible and respected by others while privately feeling trapped in a pattern of drug use you can no longer control.

You may have promised yourself that you would stop, tried cutting down or believed you could manage it alone. Yet stress, pressure, certain people or familiar situations keep pulling you back.

Hypnotherapy and Mind Mentoring can support you in understanding those patterns, changing how you respond to triggers and building a clearer way forward alongside appropriate addiction support.

Private 30-minute conversation. No judgement or obligation.

Addiction can hide behind performance

You may still appear completely in control

Drug addiction does not always look like someone whose life has already fallen apart.

Many people continue working, running businesses, supporting families and meeting responsibilities while privately becoming increasingly dependent on drugs to cope, perform, escape or switch off.

Because you are still functioning, you may convince yourself that the problem is manageable. But the amount of energy needed to hide it, fund it and recover from it can continue to grow.

Asking for help is not an admission that you have failed. It is a decision to stop allowing the pattern to control what happens next.

The real cost

Drug use rarely affects just one part of your life

Even when other people do not know what is happening, the pressure can begin to affect your decisions, relationships, confidence and sense of who you are.

Your work

Concentration, attendance, judgement and performance can become harder to maintain, particularly after periods of heavier use.

Your relationships

Secrecy, broken promises, mood changes and financial pressure can damage trust with the people closest to you.

Your health and finances

The physical effects, cost and fear of being discovered can create even more pressure, which can then feed the pattern again.

Why does the pattern continue?

Stopping involves more than removing the drug

Drug use can become connected with stress, social situations, confidence, difficult memories, pressure, loneliness or the need to escape how you feel.

The drug may offer short-term relief or a temporary change in how you think and feel. Afterwards, the consequences create more stress, shame or fear, which can trigger the urge to use again.

This does not remove personal responsibility. It helps explain why simply knowing you need to stop has not always been enough.

Our work focuses on understanding the cycle and creating different responses at the points where you would normally return to it.

You do not need another person telling you drugs are damaging your life. You need the right support to change what keeps taking you back.

Stopping must be approached safely

Drug addiction can involve physical dependence, withdrawal, overdose risk and serious mental-health difficulties.

Do not suddenly stop using a drug if you may be physically dependent without first speaking to a GP, pharmacist or specialist drug treatment service. Some people need medical assessment, prescribed medication or supervised detoxification.

Hypnotherapy and Mind Mentoring are not emergency, detoxification or medical services. Where specialist treatment is needed, my work should only be considered alongside that care.

If you believe you or someone else may have overdosed, is unconscious, is having a seizure or is struggling to breathe, call 999 immediately.

A joined-up approach

How hypnotherapy and Mind Mentoring can support recovery

The approach is shaped around your drug use, your circumstances and the professional or medical support already around you.

1

Understand the full pattern

We explore what you use, when you use it, what usually happens beforehand and what the drug appears to provide in that moment.

2

Work with triggers and responses

Hypnotherapy creates a focused environment in which we can work with the thoughts, emotions and automatic associations connected with the urge to use.

3

Build a practical recovery plan

Mind Mentoring helps you prepare for high-risk situations, develop different ways to respond and make choices that support your wider treatment and recovery.

Stop using drugs

What are you working towards?

The clear objective is to help you move away from drug use and regain control over your choices, health, relationships and future.

That does not mean pretending recovery will always be easy or relying on one session to resolve every part of the problem.

It means building the understanding, support and practical responses needed to make stopping possible and continuing recovery more sustainable.

  • Understand what triggers the urge to use.
  • Interrupt familiar patterns before they take over.
  • Prepare for stressful or high-risk situations.
  • Reduce secrecy and begin rebuilding trust.
  • Reconnect with the reasons you want to stop.
  • Work alongside medical or specialist addiction support.

A client experience

Gary’s story

Gary came to me after 10 years of cocaine use had begun to affect his health, finances and family life. He was in debt, close to losing everything and felt he had already tried every available option.

Through our work, we explored the situations, emotions and patterns connected with his cocaine use while helping him create a different response.

Within 21 days of beginning the work, Gary reported that he had stopped using cocaine and had started rebuilding his life.

This was Gary’s personal experience. It does not guarantee that another person will achieve the same result or follow the same timescale.

Who I work with

For capable people who can no longer ignore the cost

Many of the people I support are professionals, founders, business owners and leaders who have hidden their drug use behind a capable and successful exterior.

They are used to solving problems independently and may feel ashamed that this is one challenge they have been unable to control.

You will not be judged or treated as though addiction defines who you are. But you will be expected to be honest, take responsibility and engage with any specialist support needed to keep you safe.

Is this the right support?

Hypnotherapy is not suitable as your only treatment

Drug addiction is complex. Some people need medication, detoxification, residential rehabilitation, counselling, group support or coordinated help with their physical health, mental health, housing and finances.

During the clarity call, I will ask about your drug use, current safety, other treatment and what you want to change.

If you need specialist assessment or medical support before working with me, I will tell you. This is about helping you make a safe decision, not simply selling you a session.

Common questions

Considering hypnotherapy for drug addiction?

Can hypnotherapy cure drug addiction?

No. Drug addiction is complex, and no responsible practitioner should promise a cure. Hypnotherapy and Mind Mentoring can form one part of a wider recovery plan alongside appropriate medical, psychological and specialist addiction support.

Can you make me stop using drugs?

No. Hypnotherapy cannot force you to stop or remove your ability to choose. The work supports your own decision, awareness and commitment to change.

Should I stop taking drugs before the session?

Do not suddenly stop if you may be physically dependent without speaking to a GP or specialist drug service. Sessions cannot take place while you are intoxicated, and medical advice may be needed before beginning.

Do I need to use an addiction service as well?

Depending on the drug, frequency of use and level of dependence, specialist treatment may be essential. My work is not a substitute for detoxification, prescribed medication or structured addiction treatment.

What happens if I relapse?

A return to drug use should be taken seriously, but it does not mean that recovery is impossible. Contact your GP, drug treatment service or other professional support and be honest about what has happened.

Is the clarity call confidential?

The conversation is private and treated respectfully, subject to normal professional, safeguarding and legal responsibilities. I will explain these boundaries if they are relevant.
