Hypnotherapy to Stop Smoking

Stop smoking completely

Stop Smoking Hypnotherapy

You already know why you should stop. The real challenge is changing the habits, triggers and automatic reactions that keep pulling you back.

This is for people who are ready to stop smoking completely—not cut down, take another temporary break or spend another year promising themselves they will stop soon.

Through hypnotherapy and Mind Mentoring, we work with the reasons smoking has remained part of your life and help you move towards becoming a non-smoker.

Private 30-minute conversation. No pressure or obligation.

Is now the right time?

This starts with your decision to stop

Hypnotherapy cannot force you to stop smoking, and it cannot make the decision for you.

What it can do is support the decision you have already made by helping you work with the routines, associations and automatic responses that have made smoking difficult to leave behind.

You do not need perfect confidence or endless willpower. You do need to be honest about what smoking is costing you and ready to make a change.

More than a cigarette

What keeps the smoking pattern going?

Smoking often becomes connected with particular feelings, situations and moments in the day. Removing the cigarette without addressing those connections can leave you feeling that something is missing.

Stress and pressure

A cigarette can become a reason to step away, breathe and take a break when everything feels demanding.

Routine and repetition

Smoking may be connected with coffee, driving, finishing a meal, alcohol, telephone calls or particular times of day.

Reward and relief

You may associate smoking with comfort, concentration, celebration or the feeling that you have earned a moment to yourself.

You already know the facts

Why is knowing you should stop not enough?

Most smokers already understand the health risks, financial cost and effect smoking can have on the people around them.

The difficulty is that information does not automatically change a behaviour that has been repeated hundreds or thousands of times.

You can logically want to stop while another part of you continues reaching for a cigarette in familiar situations.

Our work focuses on that gap between what you consciously want and the response that keeps happening automatically.

You do not need another lecture about why smoking is bad for you. You need a different way of working with what keeps you doing it.

A focused approach

How stop-smoking hypnotherapy works

This is not about reading a generic script and hoping for the best. The process is shaped around your smoking pattern, your reasons for stopping and the situations that have caused you to return to it.

1

Understand your smoking pattern

We explore when you smoke, what happens immediately beforehand and what you believe the cigarette gives you in that moment.

2

Work with the automatic response

Hypnotherapy creates a focused state in which we work with the routines, triggers and associations connected with smoking.

3

Build your smoke-free response

We strengthen your reasons for stopping and develop practical ways to respond when you encounter familiar situations outside the session.

Your commitment matters

You are not giving something up

Smoking may currently feel like a source of comfort, relief or control. That can make stopping feel as though you are losing something important.

The aim is to help you see smoking differently—not as something you need to resist for the rest of your life, but as a pattern you are choosing to leave behind.

You are choosing greater freedom over when you stop, where you go, how you spend your money and what controls your attention.

  • Stop organising your day around cigarettes.
  • Respond differently to familiar smoking triggers.
  • Feel clearer about why you are stopping.
  • Build routines that do not depend on smoking.
  • Regain a sense of choice and personal control.
  • Move forward as someone who no longer smokes.

Who this is for

For people who are ready to stop making excuses

Many of the people I work with are capable professionals, founders and business owners who are disciplined and successful in other areas of life, yet feel frustrated that smoking still has control over them.

They have often tried stopping before. They may have lasted days, weeks, months or even years before a stressful event or familiar situation pulled them back.

They are not looking for judgement. They want to understand what keeps happening and create a stronger, more useful response.

A responsible approach

Hypnotherapy can be part of your wider stop-smoking plan

Hypnotherapy does not replace medical advice, prescribed treatment, nicotine-replacement products or support from an NHS stop-smoking service.

You can use hypnotherapy alongside other appropriate support. During the clarity call, we can discuss what you are currently using and whether you should speak with your GP, pharmacist or stop-smoking service.

Do not stop taking prescribed medication without speaking to the healthcare professional responsible for your care.

Common questions

Considering hypnotherapy to stop smoking?

Can you make me stop smoking?

No. Hypnotherapy cannot force you to stop or remove your ability to choose. The process supports your own decision and commitment to becoming a non-smoker.

Do I need to be completely ready?

You do not need to feel completely confident, but you should genuinely want to stop rather than attending because someone else has pressured you.

Will I experience cravings or withdrawal?

People experience stopping differently. Hypnotherapy does not remove the possibility of nicotine withdrawal. Your GP, pharmacist or NHS stop-smoking service can advise you about suitable products and medical support.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your smoking history, current circumstances and what has happened during previous attempts to stop. We will discuss the recommended approach before you commit.

Can stop-smoking hypnotherapy take place online?

Yes. Sessions are available online across the UK and in person in Shrewsbury. For an online session, you will need a private, comfortable space and a reliable internet connection.

Is success guaranteed?

No responsible practitioner can guarantee that every person will stop smoking. Your decision, preparation, participation and commitment after the session all matter.
